FunSongs English Weeks
FunSongs English Weeks are summer camps for young learners held by mother-tongue teachers trained in the FunSongs Method. Based on an idea by Charles Goodger, the first FunSongs English Week was held at the Centro Torrazza in Zola Predosa near Bologna, Italy for 55 children aged from 7 to 10 in June 2006.
Since then FunSongs and the educational association CAIL have organized many FunSongs English Weeks for hundreds of children in different cities in Italy. CAIL also organizes English Week Theatre Workshops for older learners from 10 to 13.
In Latvia, FunSongs plans to hold its first FunSongs English Week in Gudenieki, near Liepaja.
The FEWs programme is an action-packed series of games, sports, arts and crafts in which kids learn English as they do things and have fun.
Each FunSongs English Week ends in a musical performance of original action songs for parents and an exhibition of the themed artefacts the children have made during the FEW.
Why not organize a FunSongs English Week in your community? It's a great way to give your summer camp added value and an edge over the competition. Write an email to Steffi describing your situation and we will get back to you with a proposal.
