FunSongs Shows

A FunSongs Show is an unforgettable workshop for young learners of English. It combines elements of comedy and bilingual puppetry with the didactic and mnemonic power of FunSongs action songs.

FunSongs Shows (ages 5 - 10) and FunSongs Quiz Shows (11 - 14) are currently available to schools in Latvia and Italy. On 31st October 2011 FunSongs Latvia will perform a special FunSongs Halloween Show at the British Council in Riga, Latvia.

Show suitable for pre-school and beginner classes.
Content and level suitable for older kids aged 8 upwards.

Expert mother-tongue actors entertain and interact with the children as they help them to mime and sing. Children leave the show having learnt language chunks they will never forget.

FunSongs Shows come in 18 different versions. There are appropriate themes for every primary school age group and level. Schools that order shows have free access to FunSongs action packages. Contact us for details.

FunSongs Shows make use of bilingual puppetry. The English-speaking puppet Britty interacts with his friend and rival Itty (Italian), Latjis (Latvian) and Vanja (Russian) in the students' native language. This allows children to understand the English of the comical bilingual sketches instantly. All puppet sketches are based on the words of the show's action songs.

Downloads of FunSongs materials to photocopy are provided free to teachers both before and after the show. This includes a poster to put up at school, a diploma for each child and a preparatory language sheet for the teacher to prepare students before the show.
